Sound

A Project using Ambisonic Recording Technology to create a soundscape around the theme of Connection in Radstock. A snippet of the final piece will be shared at Bath Digital Festival on Thursday May 15th and the final Immersive Audio Installation will exhibit at Old Printworks Arts in Radstock from 2nd-5th June.

Who’s it for?
Anyone aged 16-25s, Somer Valley based, with an interest in making and/or recording sound and not in full time employment or training (NEET), or at high risk of becoming “NEET”.

What will we be doing?
The project will be led by our Sound Resident, Aisha Ali who:
– over 4 x 2 hours sessions, will teach you:
– the basics of Logic and the equipment in the Studio
– some fundamentals of recording using Ambisonic Technology
– how to create loops on ODD balls
– how to record vocals
– how to create soundscapes

After being shown the technical skills, we will collaborate towards making a final audio artwork around the theme of connection. Parts of what you record on the course will be used in the final immersive audio installation, which will be overseen by Aisha.
