
A Project using Ambisonic Recording Technology to create a soundscape around the theme of Connection in Radstock. A snippet of the final piece will be shared at Bath Digital Festival on Thursday May 15th and the final Immersive Audio Installation will exhibit at Old Printworks Arts in Radstock from 2nd-5th June.
Who’s it for?
Anyone aged 16-25s, Somer Valley based, with an interest in making and/or recording sound and not in full time employment or training (NEET), or at high risk of becoming “NEET”.
What will we be doing?
The project will be led by our Sound Resident, Aisha Ali who:
– over 4 x 2 hours sessions, will teach you:
– the basics of Logic and the equipment in the Studio
– some fundamentals of recording using Ambisonic Technology
– how to create loops on ODD balls
– how to record vocals
– how to create soundscapes
After being shown the technical skills, we will collaborate towards making a final audio artwork around the theme of connection. Parts of what you record on the course will be used in the final immersive audio installation, which will be overseen by Aisha.
When is it?
Wednesdays 16th, 23rd & 30th April & 7th May (sessions 1- 4) at 6:30-8:30pm at Old Printworks Arts

Will you be paid?
Yes! There will be a £140 fee for participating as this is a paid apprenticeship, subject to attendance.
Do you have to attend all the sessions?
Yes! Preference will be given to people who can commit to attending all the sessions. If you can do most of the dates, please do get in touch too!

To gain access to our studio studio you can join us as a member for £40 per month. Our members are entitled to up to
15 hours of studio time every month.
