Fashion and Textiles
I have been teaching Fashion and Textiles in adult education for 23 years, from vocational courses, leisure courses,
to community workshops.
I love meeting and connecting with new people and sharing my passion for creativity. Whether teaching how to thread a machine for the first time or mastering something more complex I am passionate about helping others to realise their goals and transform them into something to be proud of.
Sustainable fashion is an area of focus for me and I enjoy sharing skills and techniques with others to show how easily obtainable it is to make our clothes work for us without buying new.
My workshops and classroom environment is welcoming, relaxed and supported. Through demonstrations and individual one to one support participants are shown a range of skills and be able to practice using specialist equipment to develop their own projects and explore creative ideas and most importantly build in confidence.
My love for teaching enthuses me to generate new creative projects for myself and for others, for me to keep experimenting with exploring new themes or ideas hasn’t wavered and continues to propel me forward into the studio to share my passion with other likeminded people.
